I am a UK trained, experienced psychodynamic therapist based in Dorchester, Dorset. I have built my experience over the years working in private practice and in mental health charity organisations in Dorset, Somerset and New Forest counties.

 

I had 6 years of core professional counselling training (4 in individual therapy at Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy, in Somerset and 2 in couples counselling at Tavistock Relations, in London).

 

I am fully committed to Continued Professional Development (CPD) with regular participation in professional seminars, workshops and conferences. I have my work supervised on a regular basis, as is required for all practicing psychodynamic therapists.

Being registered with these professional bodies means that I meet the training, professional and ethical standards criteria to practice. I also hold the graduate level of registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) for I also studied Psychology at Master's degree level.

 

Lastly, I have an Enhanced Government Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate.

I have worked with people struggling with stress/anxiety/panic attacks, phobias, low-mood/depression, suicidal ideation, family difficulties, bereavement/ loss/miscarriage, separation/divorce/estrangement, infertility, trauma, emotional & physical abuse, low-self-esteem/ self-regard, sexuality/sexual difficulties, physical illness/disability/chronic pain, life transitions, relocations to another country, a general sense of dissatisfaction and a search for meaning in life/ personal growth, work-related stress.
